Central Bureau of Narcotics busts Drug syndicate in Delhi The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) Preventive and Intelligence Cell in New Delhi made a significant success in breaking a pan-Delhi level drug gang engaged in the provision of different kinds of narcotics, psychotropic and synthetic drugs for high-profile events. Acting on specific intelligence, a combined preventive squad of the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) Delhi and Gwalior apprehended two foreign citizens on February 27th, 2023, providing industrial amounts of synthetic drugs MDMA and cocaine hidden in their underwear. They were questioned about the location where they obtained the narcotics. As a follow-up action, three suspected locations in Suman Chowk, Chattarpur, Delhi, as stated by them, were searched, and suspected narcotics substances were seized. A total of 35 grams of MDMA, 6 grams of MD pills (Ecstasy/Molly), 12.5 grams of cocaine and 386 grams of suspected drug/psychotropic powder were recovered and seized under the relevant provisions of NDPS Act, 1985. As per NDPS Act 1985, 10 grams of MDMA/Ecstasy is considered as "Commercial quantity". Three Scooties used for supplying drugs were also seized. Weighing machines and packing materials et.al were recovered and seized under the provisions of NDPS Act, 1985. Two foreign nationals (one from Nigeria and the other from the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire) have been arrested in accordance with the pertinent sections of the NDPS Act, 1985. Nigerian and Côte d'Ivoire embassies have been notified via appropriate channels. Further investigation is in progress.
