Central Govt. appoints Chairperson and Members of UIDAI The Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology under Government of India has appointed Chairperson and Members of UIDAI via issuing Notification. The Notification Stated as, "In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 12 read with Section 14(1) of The Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016), the Central Government, hereby appoints two officers." i. Shri Neelkanth Mishra, Chief Economist, Axis Bank and Head of Global Research, Axis Capital as part time Chairperson of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI); and, ii. Prof. Mausam, Associate Professor, Computer Science Department, IIT Delhi and Shri Nilesh Shah, Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company Limited as part-time Members of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). The Chairperson and the Members appointed under this Act shall hold office for a term of three years or up to the age of sixty-five years whichever is earlier, from the date on which they assume office.
