Chennai Customs Department Launched Online Platform for Submission of Compliances and Notifications The EPD portal is being introduced by the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Chennai-IV, in Public Notice No. 04/2022 dated February 15, 2022 as a one-stop solution for online submission of mandatory compliances such as returns, intimation of import, intimation of goods receipt, and B17 bond debit & credit. Kind attention of EOU, STPI, EHTP, DTA units registered under Chennai Customs Zone and other stakeholders is invited to the Customs Notification No. 68/2017(N.T.) dated June 30, 2017 that mandates intimation of import to the jurisdictional AC/DC, Customs Circular No.07/2021 dated February 22, 2021 mandating submission of monthly returns, Customs Circular No. 35/2016 dated July 29, 2016 mandating submission of quarterly returns and the DGFT Public Notice No. 36/2015-2020 dated September 04, 2018 mandating submission of copies of Quarterly Performance Report and Annual Performance Report (QPR/APR) to the jurisdictional AC/DC of Customs. Currently, all these mandatory requirements are being complied with through manual submission by furnishing hard copies at the Customs officer or by email in some cases. As a trade facilitation measure, the Chennai-IV Commissionerate has launched the EPD portal as a one-stop solution for online submission of mandatory compliances such as Returns, Intimation of Import, Intimation of Goods Receipt, and B17 bond debit & credit. The portal is accessible via the URL address https://epdchennaicustoms.in/. Importers can create an account on the platform by entering their email address and mobile phone number. The entire procedure for creating an account and using the portal's various features is attached as an Annexure. All stakeholders are encouraged to take use of this service and file all of the above-mentioned notifications and returns online via the EPD site. Any difficulties encountered should be brought to the attention of the Additional Commissioner of Customs (EPD Section) via email at [email protected] for appropriate action.
