The CUET 2024 exam scoring methodology, which was used to determine scores and marks, has been made public by NTA. NTA used the CUET UG normalization method following the computation of the raw scores.
CUET marks and CUET percentile are two different metrics that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) uses to assess a candidate’s performance. A candidate’s overall score determined by the exam’s marking system is referred to as their CUET marks. Conversely, the CUET percentile indicates how well a candidate performed in relation to other candidates in both the same and different exam sessions. Admission to CUET-accepting colleges is determined by the candidate’s normalized score or CUET percentile.
The CUET percentile score is determined by NTA using the following formula following the normalization process:
100 * (number of applicants with a raw score that is equal to or lower than) / (total number of candidates) is the percentile.
Your percentile, for instance, would be 10% if there were 1000 candidates in a session and 100 of them had raw scores that were either equal to or lower than yours.
The percentile indicates how you performed in comparison to the other applicants who took the CUET UG. It considers the exam’s difficulty as well as the performance of other applicants, making it a more accurate indicator of your performance than your raw score.
