Authorities at Hyderabad International Airport seized gold worth Rs 26.64 lakh hidden in detergent. The traffickers were attempting to move gold illegally from Dubai to India. This is owing to the fact that gold is cheaper in Dubai than in India, and many people buy gold jewelry there.

However, the government has set limits on the quantity of gold that may be acquired and returned to India. In such cases, many people try to bring as much gold as they can from Dubai. He next dilutes the detergent with a spoon before pouring the resultant liquid. Notably, the residue contains small gold particles, giving clear evidence of the accused’s gold smuggling.

According to the information presented, Hyderabad Customs detained two individuals traveling from Dubai on October 7, 2023. They seized gold in powder form weighing 454 grams and valued at Rs. 26.64 lakhs based on passenger profiling. The gold was expertly disguised in detergent, flour, and oats packs before being confiscated.
