Delhi Govt proposes zero road tax and registration fees on all EV's priced upto Rs 30L
Delhi government in draft Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2026 has proposed 100% exemption from road tax and registration fees on all electric cars priced upto Rs. 30 Lakhs till 31.03.2030.
The main goals of this new EV policy are:
Electric Auto (3-Wheeler)
Note: This incentive is also applicable for replacing old CNG autos.
Electric Goods Vehicles (4-Wheeler / N1 Category)
All subsidies will be provided through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Only those people whose vehicle is registered in Delhi. An application for a subsidy will have to be made through the system prescribed by the Transport Department.
This policy is currently in the draft stage. It will be finalised after public suggestions! It is important to submit suggestions on time; otherwise, they will not be accepted. This new EV policy of the Delhi government is a big step towards reducing pollution and promoting electric vehicles in the city. It clearly shows that the government wants to give more benefits to those who adopt EVs early. Now everyone's eyes are on what changes are made in the final policy after the suggestions from the public.
