The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC)’s Chairman Sanjay Kumar Agarwal recently in a Newsletter stated that the Delhi GST Commissionerate busted a syndicate of 48 Fake Firms availing Fraudulent ITC of Rs. 199 crores.

He said in a newsletter, “Last week, in a major breakthrough, the officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized a container load of foreign cigarettes concealed in a consignment declared as readymade garments. During the operation, about 80 lakh cigarette sticks were recovered, having an estimated market value of Rs. 16 crores. On the GST enforcement side, CGST Delhi East Commissionerate busted a syndicate of 48 fake firms availing fraudulent ITC of over Rs.199 crores in which three persons were arrested. My compliments to the officers involved in these major hauls.
