Delhi High Court Granted Interim Relief to Google Subsidiary in Tax Issue The Delhi High Court has granted interim relief to Google's Singapore-based business in its tax dispute with Indian tax authorities. The court has granted Google Asia Pacific Pte Ltd permission to accept payments from Google Cloud India totaling Rs 1106.41 crore after withholding tax of 8%, inclusive of surcharge and cess, for the fiscal year 2022-23. The tax agency was requesting 10% tax after the company submitted for a certificate to pay 0% tax. However, Google Asia Pacific filed a court case requesting that there be no withholding tax on payments from Google Cloud India because it is already subject to a 2% equalisation fee. The court's decision is only a temporary measure, and the case has been scheduled for May.
