DGFT amends export policy of Agar Oil and Agarwood Chips and Powder obtained from artificially propagated source
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade(DGFT) has published a notice amending the export policy for agar oil and Aquilaria Malaccensis Chips and Powder. Export quotas of 25000 Kg p.a. for Agarwood Chips and Powder and 1500 Kg p.a. for Agar Oil have been notified, and the export policy has been changed from Free to Restricted.
The policy is amended from free to restricted subject to following conditions:
- Attested copies of certificates of origin issued by an Officer of the Forest Department, authorised by the concerned State Government from where stocks were procured/exported, giving details of the date of procurement from legal sources and quantities procured, should be submitted with applications for an export licence for export obtained from artificially propagated sources (cultivated origin outside forest areas). The origin certificate should state that the plantation where the items were sourced is registered with the state government.
- The application for an export licence shall also include a certificate of the current position of stocks obtained and available with the applicant, issued after physical verification of the stocks by the body designated by the PCCF for the purpose.
- A copy of the export order that was received by the company in question.
- Colored snapshot of products fully certified by the Forest Department's designated officer.
