DGFT Notifies Procedures w.r.t. Application for Tariff Rate Quota under FTA/CECA for FY 2022-23

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) released procedures for applying for Tariff Rate Quota (“TRQ”) under the Free Trade Agreement (“FTA”)/ Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (“CECA”) for FY 2022-23 in Trade Notice No. 33/2021-2022 dated January 27, 2022.

The details of the allotment of Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) under various FTA/CECA are notified in paragraph 2.107 of the HBP. TRQ application procedures are outlined in Appendix 2A of the Handbook of Procedures’ Annexures I, II, and III.

In this regard, please see Trade Notice 40/2020-21, issued February 4, 2021, which established the e-Tariff Rate Quota System for Imports. All applicants seeking a Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) for imports for FY2022-23 must submit their applications online utilising the “e-Tariff Rate Quota” system. The deadline for FY2022-23 e-TRQ applications is January 28, 2022. TRQ applications should not be presented as a ‘License for Restricted Imports.’

To apply online, go to the DGFT Website (https://dgft.gov.in) –> Services –> Import Management System — > Request a TRQ
