Direct Tax Collections of Rs.6.53 lakh crore for F.Y 2023-24 up to 10.08.2023 The provisional figures of Direct Tax collections up to 10th August, 2023 continue to register steady growth. Direct Tax collections up to 10th August, 2023 show that gross collections are at Rs. 6.53 lakh crore which is 15.73% higher than the gross collections for the corresponding period of last year. Direct tax collection, net of refunds, is Rs. 5.84 lakh crore, 17.33% more than net collections for the same time previous year. This collection represents 32.03% of total Budget Estimates of Direct Taxes for Financial Year 2023-24. Refunds amounting to Rs.0.69 lakh crore have been issued during 1st April, 2023 to 10th August, 2023, which are 3.73% higher than refunds issued during the same period in the preceding year.
