Recap of the Successful NES-CA 2024 Summit

It is my pleasure to report on the tremendous success of the National Education Summit on Commerce and Accountancy (NES-CA) 2024, which was organised by the Board of Studies (Academic). The summit, held on the 22nd and 23rd of January 2024, was an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to standardise the level of commerce education across the country.

Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), inaugurated the event in New Delhi, which drew participants comprising renowned academics, researchers, and scholars. Prof. Srivastava’s keynote talk established the tone for the summit, emphasising the importance of commerce and accounting in moulding our country’s destiny.

The two-day event provided a forum for incisive and thought-provoking debates, which contributed to the general improvement of commerce education in the country. On the occasion, ‘DeejcYe: A Step Towards Financial Independence’, a learning material for students, was also released, with the goal of fostering financial resilience and improving students’ decision-making abilities, allowing them to confidently face financial challenges throughout their lives.

ICAI cooperated with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on NES-CA 2024. As we reflect on the summit’s success, I am confident that the insights acquired will help shape the future of commerce education in our country.
