DRI busts makeshift lab manufacturing Alprazolam in Telangana; Seized Alprazolam worth Rs.3.14 crore The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) busts a clandestine makeshift laboratory in Nagar Kurnool District of Telangana and seizes 31.42 kg of Alprazolam (a psychotropic substance under NDPS Act, 1985) and arrests a person. A clandestine makeshift laboratory producing Alprazolam was discovered at a distant chicken farm amidst agricultural fields on the outskirts of Vattem village (Bijinepally Mandal), Nagar Kurnool District of Telangana, based on particular intelligence. The planned walkout resulted in the confiscation of 31.42 kg of Alprazolam as completed product (about Rs. 3.14 crore in the illegal market) and in-process material, as well as machinery and other manufacturing equipment. The person engaged in the manufacture of Alprazolam has been arrested and further investigation is in progress.
