Eastern Railway Recruitment 2022: In accordance with the Apprentices Act of 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules of 1992, as amended from time to time, Indian nationals who meet the requirements may submit an online application to train as Act Apprentices in the workshops and divisions of Eastern Railway. Applications must be submitted online and cannot be submitted in any other way. The online connection will be available on the RRC-official ER’s website starting on September 30, 2022, and it will remain active through October 29, 2022.
Application Fees: The non-refundable application cost is Rs.100 (Rupees One Hundred). However, candidates who are SC, ST, PwBD, or women are not required to pay a fee.

i. The candidates must be at least 15 years old but not older than 24 years (as on the cutoff date for receiving the application). Only the age listed on the birth certificate issued by a government-recognized authority or the matriculation certificate issued by a board or authority recognized by the government shall be taken into account. No additional documentation, such as a horoscope, affidavits, a birth extract from the municipal corporation, service records, or the like, will be allowed.
ii. The maximum age is lowered by five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC-NCL applicants, and ten years for candidates with benchmark disabilities (PwBD).
iii. At the time of document verification, candidates who are taking advantage of the modified criteria will need to present the appropriate documentation to prove their eligibility for the aforementioned requirements. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of the candidate under laxer criteria. Etc.
i. The candidate must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, from the recognized Board and also should possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
ii. However, for the following Trades the minimum educational qualification is 8th class pass from a recognized School and the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT:
1. Welder (Gas and Electric), 2. Sheet Metal Worker, 3. Lineman, 4. Wireman, 5. Carpenter and 6. Painter (General).
i. A candidate will be chosen for a training slot at an Eastern Railway unit based on a merit list that has been created for all qualified applicants who have responded to the notification. The information/details provided by candidates in the online application form will be used to create a merit list. The formula listed in paras. 5 ii to 5 iii below shall be used to calculate the merit. Any candidate who provides false information will have their application rejected as soon as the Railway Administration becomes aware of the error.
ii. The average of the marks from the matriculation and ITI will be used to create the Select list for Document Verification (DV). The formula listed in paras. 5 iii to 5 iv below will be used to calculate the merit. A merit list will be created by trade, unit, and community. Candidates must be aware that there won’t be a centralized merit list created.
iii. For the trades where passing the class 10th exam is the minimum requirement, a separate merit list will be created for qualified candidates using the average of the candidates’ percentage marks from both the matriculation (with a minimum of 50% (aggregate) marks) and ITI examinations, giving equal weight to both. Etc.
i. Candidates should make sure they meet all eligibility requirements prior to applying. The candidate’s engagement shall be immediately terminated if it is later discovered that the information provided does not meet the requirements for eligibility. At the time of document verification, all annexures in the prescribed formats for claiming fee exemption, reservation, age relaxation, etc., must be turned in.
ii. The candidates must submit their applications ONLINE using the URL found on the Notice Board of the RRC/ER Kolkata website (www.rrcer.com – Kolkata). Before completing the online applications, they must read the comprehensive instructions. Etc.
The date of publication of notification on the website is 23rd September 2022, the opening date of online application is 30th September 2022 and the closing date of online application is 29th October 2022.
