16.03 lakh new employees have been added in Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESI Scheme) in the month of February, 2023, as per provisional payroll data released by Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

According to data, almost 11,000 new establishments were registered under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme in the month of February 2023, ensuring social security coverage for their employees.

Employees under the age of 25 account for the vast bulk of new registrations, accounting for 7.42 lakh employees, or 46% of all employees registered in the month. It demonstrates that the country’s youth have access to strong job prospects.

Gender analysis of payroll data from February 2023 shows an increase of 3.12 lakh female workers under the ESI Scheme. According to the data, 49 transgender employees were enrolled under the ESI Scheme in the month of February 2023. It demonstrates that ESIC is committed to delivering its advantages to all segments of society.

Payroll data is tentative because data creation is a continual process.
