Extend Due Date for Submission of Income Tax Return for FY 2021-22 till 31st Aug 2022 The Sales Tax Bar Association has requested Hon'ble Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to Extend the Due Date for the Submission of Income Tax returns under the Income Tax Act for the F.Y 2021-22 from 31st July 2022 to 31st August 2022. Sales Tax Bar Association is bringing the kind attention that the due date for submission of Income Tax Returns under the Income Tax Act for the period from 01.04.2021 to 31.03.2022 are due for filing by 31st July 2022. In the Representation, it has been mentioned that the portal didn't start working until the first week of July 2022, when all the TDS returns and related data were uploaded there. Honorable Madam, you would also remember that the work of professionals and assessees was significantly hampered by the closures of all kinds earlier due to COVID-related concerns and then on many other grounds. Because of the issues described above, it is not possible to submit ITR in case of a large number of taxpayers by the prescribed due dates.
