The Finance Ministry has fixed the interest rate on Senior Citizens Welfare Fund (SCWF) deposits at 6.85% for the period from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.

Finance Ministry Notifies 6.85% Interest Rate for Senior Citizens Welfare Fund Deposits
The Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, has issued a notification regarding the interest rate applicable to deposits under the Senior Citizens Welfare Fund (SCWF).
According to the notification, deposits made under the Senior Citizens Welfare Fund will bear interest at the rate of 6.85% for the period from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
The government said that this interest rate will be effective from April 1, 2025. The decision has been notified under the provisions of the earlier Ministry of Finance notification (F. No. 13/20/2014-NS) dated March 18, 2016.
