Fraud alert! Scammers using Mobile Payment Application gateway to defraud you; 81 Users lose Rs.1 Crore Amid reports of cyber criminals stealing Rs.1 crore from 81 Mumbaikars in 16 days using bank KYC and PAN card scam, a brand new type of online bank fraud has arisen in which a fraudster would deliberately send cash into your account utilising Mobile Payment Application gateway. After depositing money into your bank account using Mobile Payment Application gateway, the scammer would urge you to reimburse the money, claiming that it was sent in error. In a nice gesture, you'd reimburse that Rs.10 or Rs.50 quickly to the caller's Mobile Payment Application gateway number and become a victim of malware assault. Such online frauds are carried out against Mobile Payment Application gateway consumers. According to Pavan Duggal, a cybercrime expert based in Delhi, "In this malware-plus-human-engineering scam, someone intentionally sends money to your account via Mobile Payment Application gateway and then phones you, claiming that the money was transferred in error and requesting that you send it back to their number. If you return the money, your account will be compromised."

Precaution for Mobile Payment Application gateway Users

Pavan Duggal, President of cyberlaw.com, went on to say, "As I previously stated, this is a combination of malware phishing and human engineering, thus anti-virus software will not protect Mobile Payment Application gateway users from this online scam. Thus, the simplest approach for Mobile Payment Application gateway customers is to simply respond to such calls by stating that they have asked their bank to investigate the situation because the money placed in their account was made by mistake."
