From Deposit Rs.2000 Banknotes Last Chance to Link PAN-Aadhaar: Important Financial Deadlines in September
The deadlines for numerous major schemes and government initiatives, like as the deposit/exchange of Rs.2000 notes, the submission of Aadhaar numbers for modest saving schemes, and free Aadhaar updates, are coming in September. The majority of these deadlines have already been extended and will now be completed by the end of next month.
Here are important financial deadlines to watch out for in September:
The finance ministry appears to be sticking to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) initial deadline of September 30 to deposit or exchange Rs.2000 banknotes. Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State for Finance, responded in the Lok Sabha in late July in the negative to a query regarding if there is a plan to extend the deadline for the exchange of Rs.2000 in banks beyond September 30. On May 19, the RBI announced the withdrawal of 2,000 notes from circulation, but offered the people more than four months to deposit such notes in accounts or exchange them at banks.
If you want to update your Aadhaar for free, here is your final chance. The UIDAI has made it possible to update Aadhaar for free. The deadline is September 14th. Following that, fees would be levied for upgrading Aadhaar. This service was formerly offered until June 14. It was then extended for another three months.
UIDAI launched this project specifically for persons who received their Aadhaar card ten years ago and have not updated it even once. Users can update their Aadhaar data individually by accessing UIDAI’s official website, My Aadhaar.
You will receive a service request number after amending the data. This allows you to see how long it will take for your Aadhaar data to be updated. If you are unable to update yourself, you can get this task done by visiting a nearby Aadhaar centre, however you will be charged Rs.50 for updating every data.
According to the Reserve Bank of India, banks will be closed on 6 days in September, 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays. Banks will be closed for 10 days in various locations for various reasons.
Banks will only be open for 14 days if these holidays are included. As a result, if you need to go to the bank for any vital job, then check the list of holidays and then go to the bank.
In March, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) extended the deadline for current qualified trading and demat account holders to name a beneficiary for their accounts till September 30, according to Live Mint. Previously, the deadline to comply with this rule was March 31, 2022. However, SEBI extended the deadline by one year, to March 31, 2023, in a circular dated February 24, 2022.
If you haven’t already linked your PAN to Aadhaar, you must do so by September 30, 2023. If you do not do so, your PAN will be rendered inactive. After which many works related to PAN will stop. From June 30, 2022, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) will charge a Rs 1,000 late fee for linking PAN to Aadhaar.
