From Harry Potter to balance sheets: Meet Rajan Kabra CA Final May 2025 AIR 1

Today, July 6, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) released the Foundation, Intermediate, and Final CA May 2025 exam results. With an amazing score of 516 out of 600 and an AIR 1, Mumbai native Rajan Kabra has emerged as this year’s CA Final champion.

Rajan Kabra’s narrative is notable for its clarity, curiosity, and quiet confidence at a time when test prep culture frequently glorifies memorization and a never-ending grind. Behind the score, however, lies a journey molded by questions—not just answers—as well as interests ranging from Harry Potter to balance sheets and a mindset that places equal weight on the process and the outcome.

He was AIR 1 in CA Intermediate exams as well

Rajan has already been in the spotlight. In July 2021, he received a score of 378 out of 400 in the CA Foundation exam, and in May 2022, he achieved an AIR 1 on the CA Intermediate exams. Every phase of his trip has demonstrated self-control, deliberate planning, and a composed, grounded attitude. Even under the extreme pressure of the CA course, Rajan’s steady performance has come from a real sense of interest and a steady approach rather than being motivated solely by competition.

Beyond academics

Rajan is currently employed at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as an industrial trainee, where he is honing his strategic thinking abilities and being exposed to real-world business difficulties. He has never relied only on theoretical studies but has always tended toward real-world, experiential learning.

In addition to his academic and professional endeavors, Rajan describes himself as a happy, inquisitive person who has a strong passion for literature, particularly the Harry Potter books. Throughout his time in school and college, he has also actively participated in debates, quizzes, extempores, and elocutions, demonstrating his self-assurance and communication abilities.

Considering more than just the curriculum

Rajan’s interest in geopolitics and global finance, which connect statistics, policies, and practical effects, has grown in recent years. According to him, knowing these topics is crucial to comprehending the larger picture of financial decision-making. According to him, learning is an ongoing process based on development, awareness, and intellectual curiosity rather than being restricted to reaching positions or outcomes.
