For Under Secretary (Legislative Affairs)-

Officers under the Central/State Governments/ Union Territories-

• Holding analogous posts on a regular basis. OR
• With 5 years of regular service in the post on the scale of Rs.5500-175-9000(pre-revised) or equivalent. And
• The candidate should have a Degree in Law from a recognized University or equivalent.
• The candidate should have at least 7 years of experience in legal matters in a Central/State Government Department or Union Territory Administration. OR
• The candidate should be a qualified legal practitioner who is an advocate or pleader and has practised as such for a period of 4 years.

For Assistant Public Prosecutor-

• The candidate should have a Degree in Law from a recognized University or equivalent.
• The candidate should have practised as an advocate for two years.
• The candidate should have a knowledge of Konkani.

Desirable–

• The candidate should have a knowledge of Marathi.

For Assistant Research Officer-

• The candidate should have at least 2nd Class Master’s Degree in Indian History or Political Science or Sociology from a recognized University or equivalent.
• The candidate should have atleast one year of experience in conducting research in the respective branch of study. (Qualifications relaxable at the Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified).
• The candidate should have a knowledge of Konkani.

Desirable-

• The candidate should have a Doctorate Degree in History or Political Science or Sociology.
• The candidate should have a knowledge of Marathi.
