Eligibility Criteria for BAA Certificate

CA students to be eligible for the BAA certification must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

• You should have completed both groups of the CA Intermediate Examination.
• You should have completed two years of practical training, called Articleship.
• You should have completed AICITSS (Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills), a mandatory four-week training programme introduced by ICAI.
• You should have cleared the self-paced online modules (SPOM), mandatory digital learning courses introduced by ICAI.

Key Features of BAA Certificates

The following are the key features of the BAA certificate, introduced by the ICAI:

• Students, even after obtaining a BAA certificate, will still be eligible to appear for the CA Final examination.
• The ICAI is continuously working towards granting BAA certificate holders recognition equivalent to Graduation. Discussions regarding this topic are ongoing with UGC (University Grants Commission).
• Old students will also be eligible to obtain the BAA certificate if they fulfil the prescribed conditions.

• Previously, students were not granted any recognition even after completing the CA Intermediate and Articleship. This certificate will now help students get the same.
