A new ‘Business Accounting Associate’ (BAA) certificate has been launched by India's largest professional accounting body for all students falling under the aforementioned stage. Under this certificate, students will get recognition, a professional identity and employment opportunities based on their past experiences and learning. For thousands of CA students, this is not just a certificate but also a new beginning of new chapters in their lives. Candidates who fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria can apply for the certificate online at the official website of ICAI, i.e., https://www.icai.org/, by paying a fee amounting to approximately Rs 500. A key advantage of this certificate is that even after obtaining the certificate, students will still be permitted to appear for the CA final examination.

Eligibility Criteria for BAA Certificate

CA students to be eligible for the BAA certification must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
  • You should have completed both groups of the CA Intermediate Examination.
  • You should have completed two years of practical training, called Articleship.
  • You should have completed AICITSS (Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills), a mandatory four-week training programme introduced by ICAI.
  • You should have cleared the self-paced online modules (SPOM), mandatory digital learning courses introduced by ICAI.
