Govt. appoints Anand Mahindra and 3 Others as Part-time Non-official Directors of RBI Board
Industrialists Anand Mahindra, Pankaj Patel, and Venu Srinivasan, as well as scholar Ravindra Dholakia, have been appointed to the RBI‘s board of directors by the government. The appointees will serve as directors for a four-year term beginning June 14, 2022.
Mahindra is the Mahindra Group’s chairman. Zydus Lifesciences’ chairman is Patel. TVS Motor Company’s chairman emeritus is Srinivasan. Dholakia is a retired professor at IIM-A and was a member of the first monetary policy committee.
The board now contains former deputy comptroller and auditor general Revathy Iyer, Research and Information System for Developing Countries DG Sachin Chaturvedi, CA S Gurumurthy, and senior banker S K Marathe, in addition to the governor Shaktikanta Das and four deputy governors. Economic affairs secretary Ajay Seth and department of financial services secretary Sanjay Malhotra are among the government members.

The Central Government has nominated Shri Anand Gopal Mahindra, Shri Venu Srinivasan, Shri Pankaj Ramanbhai Patel and Dr. Ravindra H. Dholakia as part-time non-official Directors on the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India, for a period of four years with effect from June 14, 2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
