The government has authorised the Director and Joint Director officers of the Career Centre (Central) to sanction prosecution and compound offences under the Code on Social Security, 2020.

Govt Authorises Career Centre Officers to Prosecute and Compound Offences Under Social Security Code
The Ministry of Labour and Employment under the Government of India has granted authorisation to certain officers to handle cases concerning prosecution and compounding of offences under Chapter XIII and the related rules or schemes.
The government has taken this aforementioned action in pursuance of its powers granted under sub-section (2) of section 136 and sub-section (1) of section 138 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020), and announced it through a Notification No. S.O. 2342(E), dated May 08, 2026.
According to the notification, officers at the designations of Director (Employment) and Joint Director (Employment) working at the office of the Career Centre (Central) have been granted permission to sanction prosecution and compound offences under the Social Security Code. They are permitted to exercise their jurisdiction all across the country.
