Govt Extends GSTR-3B Filing Deadline for July 2025 in Select Maharashtra Districts
The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) has recently issued an official notification (No. 12/2025 – CENTRAL TAX), dated August 20, 2025, informing that the Commissioner has extended the due date for filing a return in FORM GSTR-3B for the month of July 2025.
The Commissioner has taken this action in exercise of the powers granted under subsection (6) of section 39 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (12 of 2017), after consulting with the Council. The deadline for filing the GSTR-3B return has been extended till August 27, 2025. This extended date is for those individuals who own a registered principal place of business located in the districts of Mumbai (City), Mumbai (suburban), Thane, Raigad, and Palghar in the State of Maharashtra are required to file returns under subsection (1) of section 39 read with the clause (i) of sub-rule (1) of rule 61 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017.
GSTR-3B is a monthly self-declaration return form under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system. Registered taxpayers use this form to declare their summary of outward supplies, inward supplies, input tax credit (ITC) claimed, and the taxes paid. Earlier, the due date for filing GSTR-3B was August 20, 2025, for July 2025. Now, taxpayers have been granted an additional 7 days to file their returns.
