Govt Notifies Appointment of New Representative to Major Multilateral Development Banks and IFAD

The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) has recently issued an official notification [F. No. 16/06/2019-OMI(Part-1)], dated 5th August 2025, announcing India’s new representative to Major Multilateral Development Banks and IFAD.

The name of the new representative is Ms. Anuradha Thakur, who is the Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and has now been appointed as India’s Alternate Governor on the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), African Development Bank (AfDB), and European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD) and India’s Governor in the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

Ms. Thakur is taking over this role from Shri Ajay Seth, who held the same position earlier. She will take over her new representation on 14th July 2025.
