GST Council decreases levy of GST on pencil sharpeners to 12% As per the news sources, GST Council has decreased the GST Rate on pencil sharpeners. The GST rate has been reduced to 12%. The current rate of pencil sharpeners is 18%. The other decision is that GST compensation to states pertaining to 2020-21 has been released today. The state of Tamil Nadu is expected to receive Rs 4,233 crores.

GST Council defers GST Appellant Tribunal

As per the news sources, the GST Tribunal subject has been postponed by GST Council for next time after some more refinement incorporating suggestions from some states. 13 members of the GST Council have opposed recommendations made by GoM on Appellate tribunals.
