GST intelligence detects case of lower payment of GST on Ayurvedic medicine; Rs. 111 Cr detected In the weekly newsletter, CBIC Chairman informed that DGGI officers detected a case of payment at a lower rate for items wrongfully declared as Ayurvedic Medicine. An amount of more than Rs. 111 Crore has been recovered subsequent to the detection. He further added that on the anti-evasion front, it was a busy week! Officers of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) detected a case involving evasion of GST on the acquisition of compulsorily convertible debentures. Pursuant to the detection an amount exceeding Rs. 56 Crores has been recovered. Further, an amount of Rs. 287 Crores was recovered by DGGI in a case involving non-payment of GST on support services rendered by the Head Office of an assessee for its Branches.
