GST Portal Update: Information about State and Center Jurisdiction now displayed on ARN
The GST portal has recently upgraded with additional features that will aid taxpayers in tracking the status of their application for new registrations or clarifying papers. Specifically, the portal’s Application Reference Number (ARN) status will now display information on the application’s state and centre jurisdiction.
This new functionality is likely to be especially useful for taxpayers, tax experts, and practitioners who have submitted Form GST REG-01 (Application for New Registration) or Form GST REG-04 (Clarification/additional information/document for Registration, Modification, or Cancellation).
Taxpayers will be able to more easily trace the development of their application and ensure that they are in compliance with all relevant requirements now that this extra information is available.
1. Formerly, while looking for an application status using the Application Reference Number (ARN), just the following information was displayed:
2. Form No. (GST REG-01 or GST REG-04)
3. Form Description (Application of New Registration or Clarification/addmonal information/document for Amendment)
4. Submission Date
5. Status
6. Assigned to (Center/State)
Along with the aforementioned facts, the jurisdiction of the State/Center is now apparent with the new update for the benefit of tax experts and taxpayers.
Formerly, stakeholders had to go to the official CBIC website to confirm jurisdiction.
