GST Shows 9% Growth in Month of April 2025:

The April 2025 GST collection was a strong budget year opening for India as gross revenue surged by 12.6% year-on-year to Rs. 2.37 lakh crore, led by a 10.7% rise in domestic collections and a huge 20.8% increase from imports.

The April 2025 GST collection was a strong budget year opening for India as gross revenue surged by 12.6% year-on-year to Rs. 2.37 lakh crore, led by a 10.7% rise in domestic collections and a huge 20.8% increase from imports. Following refunds, which increased by 48.3% mainly because of claims related to exports, net GST revenue was Rs. 2.09 lakh crore, a 9.1% rise. Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Nagaland in the northeast led the growth with 66%, 50%, and 42% respectively, while Mizoram and Andhra Pradesh had contractions, although the overall numbers indicate economic resilience and higher tax compliance across India.
