GSTN allows Revision of GST Returns for Some Taxpayers

This relates to the ability for certain taxpayers to resubmit their GSTR-3B forms. During the filing process, it was observed that some taxpayers’ returns contained differences between the data that was actually provided in the fields pertaining to ITC availment and payment of tax liabilities and the data that was preserved in the GST system. After reviewing the case and debating it, the GST Council’s Grievance Redressal Committee resolved to reset the returns as a convenience measure to allow the concerned taxpayers to make the necessary corrections.

As a result, the affected returns are available on their individual dashboards so that they may be refiled with the right data, and only the affected taxpayers have received communications on the email addresses they have registered. Within 15 days after receiving this message, taxpayers who have received it are asked to go to their dashboard and resubmit their GSTR-3B.

Taxpayers who encounter any difficulties re-filing such a GSTR-3B may contact their jurisdictional tax officer or create a ticket on the GST grievance redressal portal.
