HPPSC Recruitment 2022: Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission invites applications for the post of Acharya (Veda), Class-I (Gazetted) on a contract basis. The benefit of reservation for various posts will be admissible only to the candidates, who are residents of Himachal Pradesh in respect of categories. There are only 03 vacancies available for this post.

The maximum age for candidates should be below 45 Years as of 01.01.2022. The last date/time to apply online is on 16th July 2022 by 11:59 pm. Incomplete Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) submitted without requisite examination fee, scanned photograph & scanned signatures of prescribed size, will be rejected straightway. Examination fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Qualifications for HPPSC Recruitment 2022:

Essential Qualifications

• A good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent of 55%, (Wherever the grading system is followed) in Acharya Degree in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from Foreign University recognized by the Govt. of India.
• Candidates besides fulfilling the above qualifications should have cleared the eligibility test (NET/SET) for Acharyas conducted by the UGC/State Public Service Commission.
• NET/SET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Acharya for those with post-graduate
  degree. The candidates having Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET/SET for PG level and UG level teaching.

Desirable Qualification

• Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.

Selection Procedure for HPPSC Recruitment 2022:

• Selection will be done in two steps:
  • Screening/ Preliminary Exam
  • Personality Test
• The Computer Based Screening Test (objective- type) or Offline Screening Test (objective- type) will be conducted in cases where the number of eligible candidates for recruitment to the post(s) advertised by the
  Commission is large and syllabus for Screening test will be notified separately.
• Minimum pass marks in Computer Based Test / Offline Test (objective or descriptive) are 25%.
