ICAI exempt CA Course fees for students who their any parents due to COVID-19 pandemic

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has decided to exempt CA Courses fee for one of those students who lost any one of their parents during this COVID-19 Pandemic. The Competent Authority has decided that all CA Course registration fees, including ICITSS [Information Technology (IT) and Orientation Course (OC)] and AICITSS [Advanced Information Technology (Advanced IT) and Management and Communication Skills (MCS) Course], will be waived for students who have lost a parent during the Covid-19 pandemic. This scheme will be in effect from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2023. Students must complete the Registration Form for their specific course on the SSP Portal at www.icai.org and upload the required documents:

(a) For registering in a certain course, you'll need the documents listed in the prospectus / Registration Form.

(b) In addition to the foregoing, a Death Certificate and Mother/Father's Identity Proof, if the case may be, duly attested by any of the following authorised persons:

1. Heads of DCOs, Regional Heads, and Branch Officers-in-Charge. 2. The principal under whom such scholar is registered for Articleship. 3. Member of the Branch's Central Council, Regional Council, and Managing Committee.

Such students would not have to pay any fees while registering provisionally for the course in which they are interested. Furthermore, if it is discovered during the examination of the application form that the student is not qualified for registration fee exemption, the forms supplied by the student will be discarded. If the student falls within the above-mentioned time frame for ICITSS and AICITSS fee waivers, the student must present a separate Death Certificate and Identity Proof of Mother / Father, both of which must be attested by one of the following when registering for registration in such courses.

1. DCOs Heads/Regional Heads/Officer-in-charge of the Branch 2. Principal under whom such freshman is registered for Articleship. 3. Central Council Member / Regional Council Member / Managing Committee Member of the Branch
