ICAI imposes 5 Year Ban on CA Candidates for use of Mobile in Examination Hall The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that they will take stringent action against candidates who use unfair means during the CA examination. As per the policy of the Examination Department of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, among others, possession of a Mobile Phone or any other electronic devices/gadgets is strictly prohibited inside the examination centre during Chartered Accountants Examinations. During the May 2024 Chartered Accountants Examinations, it was discovered that certain examinees had actual possession of a mobile phone, as well as some Telegram groups/WhatsApp groups/other channels of communication on their phones. All mobile phones were seized, and reports were obtained from the Examination Centre and other Functionaries. The Examination Committee of the Institute has taken a serious view of the above and decided to debar all such candidates, who were involved in tarnishing the image of the Institute by taking mobile phones inside the examination hall, for the next 5 years from appearing in the Chartered Accountants Examinations. In view of the above, students are advised to go through the Instructions to Examinees provided along with the admit card, carefully and familiarize themselves with the same to ensure compliance in letter and spirit.
