ICAI: Preparation to crack down on fake CA certification intensifies; UDIN numbers being generated quickly The new mechanism implemented in the country to deal with people who scam the system by using fake CA certificates is proving to be effective. The Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN) created by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is being generated rapidly. According to the information, not only in bank audits but also in government bids, people used to certify papers by impersonating CAs. According to ICAI President Aniket Sunil Talati, around 5 crore such UIDNs have been generated in the country as of April 12 this year, and 1.38 lakh members have enrolled. UDIN is now required for all sorts of certification, GST and tax audit reports, and other audits. Additionally, such attestation works must be signed by full-time Chartered Accountants.

Solution to problems of portal released

Aniket Talati stated that the ICAI has made numerous recommendations to the government regarding the portal's difficulties. The job of putting these proposals into action is ongoing. Along with this, a call centre has been established where professionals may receive solutions by discussing their issues.
