ICAI removes name of 7 Chartered Accountants for Professional Misconduct
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has removed 7 Chartered Accountants from the Register of Members for Professional Misconduct.
The Notification Read as Follows:
The Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Arunabha Chattopadhyay (Membership No. 058457), 74, Purbanchal Road, North, Beside Bidhan Road, KOLKATA-700078, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Item (7) of Part I of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, ordered for removal of name of CA. Arunabha Chattopadhyay (Membership No. 058457) from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) months and also imposed a fine of Rs. 1,00,000 (Rupees One Lakh only) to be paid within 90(ninety) days and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time his name shall be removed for a further period of 30(Thirty) days. Since the Respondent had failed to pay the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of CA. Arunabha Chattopadhyay (Membership No. 058457), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a consolidated period 03(Three) months and 30(Thirty) days [03(Three) months plus additional 30(Thirty) days] with effect from 3rd January, 2025.
The Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Muni Kumar Gubiligari (Membership No. 234106), NO 18, Old No. 1612, 2nd Floor, East End Main Road, Jayanagar, 9th Block, BENGALURU- 560069, Guilty of Professional and/or Other Misconduct and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules ordered as per the table below:
The Committee also ordered that the punishment shall run concurrently in both the matters. Since the Respondent had failed to pay the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of CA. Muni Kumar Gubiligari (Membership No. 234106), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a consolidated period of 120(One Hundred Twenty) days [90(Ninety) days plus additional 30(Thirty) days] with effect from 3rd January, 2025.
The Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Rahul Chillal (Membership No. 230503), 3rd Cross Mahatma, Basaveshwar Colony, KALABURAGI-585105(Karnataka), guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Item (7) of Part I of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, ordered for removal of name of CA. Rahul Chillal (Membership No. 230503) from the Register of Members for a period of 60(Sixty) days and also imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) to be paid within 90(ninety) days and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time his name shall be removed for a further period of 30(Thirty) days. Since the Respondent had already paid the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of CA. Rahul Chillal (Membership No. 230503) shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 60 (Sixty) days with effect from 3rd January, 2025.
The Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Pandia Rajan R (Membership No. 212861), NO 112, Seaa Towers, 1st Floor, Kavi Lakshmisha Road, Visveswarapuram, BENGALURU- 560004, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Item (7) of Part I of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, ordered for removal of name of CA. Pandia Rajan R (Membership No. 212861) from the Register of Members for a period of 60 (Sixty) days and also imposed a fine of Rs.20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) to be paid within 90 (ninety) days and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time his name shall be removed for a further period of 30 (Thirty) days. Since the Respondent had already paid the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of CA. Pandia Rajan R (Membership No. 212861), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a consolidated period of 60 (Sixty) days with effect from 3rd January, 2025.
The Board of Discipline has held CA. Ranjit Kumar Yadav (M. No. 525751), B-239 2nd Floor, West Vinod Nagar, Narwana Road, DELHI 110092, guilty of ‘Other Misconduct’ falling within the meaning of Item (2) of Part IV of the First Schedule to the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 15(1) of the aforesaid Rules ordered for removal of the name of CA. Ranjit Kumar Yadav (M. No. 525751) from the Register of Members for a period of 03 (Three) months and also imposed a fine of Rs. 1,00,000 (Rupees One Lakh only). In pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Board of Discipline and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 that the name of CA. Ranjit Kumar Yadav (M. No. 525751) shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) months with effect from 3rd January, 2025.

Anand Kumar Jhunjhunwala (Membership No. 056613), 74/1, Narkeldanga, Road, KOLKATA-700054, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Items (5) and (7) of Part I of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, ordered for removal of name of CA. Anand Kumar Jhunjhunwala (Membership No. 056613) from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) years and also imposed a fine of Rs. 5,00,000 (Rupees Five Lakhs only) to be paid within 90 (ninety) days and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time his name shall be removed for a further period of 01(One) month. Since the Respondent had failed to pay the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of CA. Anand Kumar Jhunjhunwala (Membership No. 056613), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a consolidated period 03(Three) years and 01(One) month[03(Three) years plus additional 01(One) month] with effect from 3rd January, 2025.
The Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Akshay Jain (Membership No. 241125), D No. 23-7-86, 2nd Floor, Shikar Darshan, Opposite Rao Bahadur Meda, GUNTUR 522003(Andhra Pradesh), guilty of Professional and Other Misconduct falling within the meaning of Item (7) of Part I of Second Schedule and Item (2) of Part IV of First Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, ordered for removal of name of CA. Akshay Jain (Membership No. 241125) from the Register of Members for a period of 5(Five) years and also imposed a fine of Rs. 5,00,000 (Rupees Five Lakhs only) to be paid within 90(ninety) days and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time his name shall be removed for a further period of 01(One) month. Since the Respondent had failed to pay the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of CA. Akshay Jain (Membership No. 241125), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a consolidated period of 05(Five) years and 01(one) month [05(Five) years plus additional 01(One) month] with effect from 3rd January, 2025.
