ICAI should ensure that every penny of the government exchequer should reach the needy people: Office of LG J&K Lt Governor addresses 12th Residential Meet of ICAI members in public service at Srinagar. He appreciates the invaluable contribution of ICAI’s members in public service to nation's growth through unflinching devotion and honesty. He said that Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has indeed come a long way since its inception in 1949 and has made immense contribution in policies, governance & business. Accountancy is not just a matter of balance sheet but it is also about laying a strong foundation for socio-economic development of the country, he added. As a strong partner in nation-building, ICAI has continuously supported various government institutions, regulatory bodies in the implementation of important policies related to the inclusive development so that India can move faster and economy becomes stronger. Under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India has emerged as the world's fifth greatest economic power, and new thinking has evolved in both the commercial and governmental sectors. This has given them renewed strength and confidence to move the socioeconomic sectors forward. Because to good economic policies, the world's largest organisations and corporations have voiced faith in India's future. I am pleased that the ICAI is actively engaging in this journey and creating the highest worldwide standards. Today, role of CAs is not limited to maintaining credibility of financial market, discipline, confidence of investors & shareholders but they are also ensuring expenditure on development programmes, every penny of the government exchequer should reach the needy people. The speed of our work has increased 10 times in comparison to the period before 2019.
