ICSI announces CS Professional New Syllabus 2022 for ICSI 2023 Exams

The Institute of Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI) has announced the CS Professional New Syllabus 2022 for ICSI 2023 Exams.

The ICSI’s Council in exercise of the powers vested under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 15 of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 approved the New Syllabus (ICSI Syllabus 2022) for the CS Professional Programmes of the Company Secretaryship Course.

Professional Programme Registration under the new syllabus (2022) will be effective from August 1, 2023.

The New Syllabus shall comprise of seven papers at Professional Programme. The last CS Professional Programme examination on the previous syllabus (2017) will be held in December 2024. All ICSI Final or CS Professional exams will be held in New Syllabus (2022) exclusively beginning in June 2025.

Paperwise Exemption on the basis of Higher Quafication:

The Council of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), in its 294th Meeting of the Council held on Tuesday, the 14th February, 2023 has decided that the students enrolling to Company Secretary (CS) Course under New Syllabus, 2022 shall be eligible for paper-wise exemption (s) based on the higher qualifications acquired by them, as under:

Focal Points of New syllabus

• First Examination under ICSI New Syllabus 2022 for professional programme students will be conducted in June 2024
• Last attempt for appearing under syllabus 2017 syllabus is December 2024.
• Students who have taken registration under New Syllabus 2022 of Professional Programme w.e.f. 1st August 2023 shall be required to successfully complete a Pre-Exam Test before enrolling for the CS main examinations.
