ICSI elects New President and Vice President for 2024
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has elected CS B. Narasimhan as President and CS Dhananjay Shukla as Vice President for the year 2024, effective January 19, 2024.
CS B. Narasimhan is a postgraduate in Economics and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He has over 40 years of experience in corporate law and management, with a focus on capital markets.
CS B Narasimhan, elected for a second term from 2023-2026, will become President of the Institute in 2024 after previously serving as Vice President in 2023.
He was originally elected to the ICSI Central Council in 2007 and re-elected in 2011 for another four-year term. He was elected to the Central Council for the 2019-2022 term and previously chaired the Secretarial Standards, Financial Services, and Disciplinary Committees for seven years.
His expertise includes Corporate and Securities Management, Public Offerings, and Corporate Actions for Listed Companies, with hands-on experience in operations relating to such Corporate Actions.
He has served on SEBI committees and chaired the Registrar Association of India (RAIN) for two 5-year terms. He has extensive experience working with stock exchanges (BSE and NSE), banks (NSDL and CDSL), and regulatory bodies.
CS B. Narasimhan is a speaker at seminars and conferences both in India and overseas, and has contributed to professional journals.
CS Dhananjay Shukla, a Commerce and Law graduate, is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries in India. He is a company secretary headquartered in Gurgaon who specialises in corporate law, securities law, and taxation.
CS Dhananjay Shukla has been serving the profession in various positions for many years. He served on the Northern India Regional Council of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India from 2011 to 2014, and was re-elected in 2015-18. He held different positions at the NIRC, including Chairman of the Northern Region in 2017.
He served on the ICSI’s Secretarial Standards Board (SSB) in 2019 and 2020, and is currently elected to the Managing Committee of the ICSI’s CSBF.
With over 20 years of experience as a Corporate Professional, he previously worked as a Company Secretary for significant corporate groups before transitioning to practice in 2009. He has played a key role in foreign-promoted start-ups in India.
