IIT Delhi Admission 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is a public technology institute located in Delhi. As a centre of excellence for scientific, engineering, and technology education, research, and development in India, it is one of the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology. According to the QS World University Rankings of 2023, IIT Delhi ranked 46th in Asia and 174th worldwide. In the Academic Ranking of World Universities for 2022, it was placed in the 701–800 range. All Indian Institutes of Technology came in at number three on Times Higher Education’s (THE) 2006 list of the top 100 technology universities worldwide.
IIT Delhi was established in August 1961 by Humayun Kabir Minister of Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs. In 1961, the first admissions were conducted. The National Council of Educational Research and Training is located to the south, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Complex is to the west, the Sri Aurobindo Marg is to the east, and the New Ring Road runs through the middle of the 320 acres (or 1.3 km2) that together make up the current campus. The Qutb Minar and the Hauz Khas monuments are on each side of it. Subsequently, the Institute was designated as one of the Institutes of National Importance by the Institutes of Technology Amendment Act of 1963. His suggestions were followed and in 1950 Kharagpur became the home of the first Indian Institute of Technology.
