Income Tax Department Conducts Raid in Hyderabad

The Income Tax Department has conducted a raid at Kamalapuri Colony in Hyderabad on October 21, 2023.

Kamalapuri Colony is a posh residential colony, situated in between Banjara Hills and Srinagar Colony. Currently, the operation is underway, and searches and investigations are conducted by tax officials.

Further details are awaited as the operation has not been revealed.

In another case, Income Tax authorities conducted searches at the premises of AMR Group of Companies and interrogated its chairman along with its group of directors.

Hyderabad police seized approximately Rs. 3.50 crores during vehicle checking at Banjara Hills near Kamalapuri Colony. The amount was sent to the Income Tax authorities and is said to have been brought to the city from neighbouring Karnataka.

The tip-off was given by two individuals who were taken into custody by the Task Force, the IT Department teams are conducting searches at the offices of the company and the residence of the company’s directors including the AMR group chairman’s residence. The officials interrogated the chairman in connection with the seizure of Rs. 3.50 crores.

The Special Cell of the Election Commission of India (ECI) is working with the Income Tax officials in the raids.
