Income Tax Department conducts Search operation on at Real Estate Firm Income tax officers searched properties associated with real estate developer G Square for the second day on Tuesday in 75 locations across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana. Income tax officials, on the other hand, remained tight-lipped about the development. The locations of the searches were monitored by CISF soldiers, and unauthorised entries and exits were restricted. "A few people have been detained on the premises for questioning. To make any statement on the raids, the information and data gathered must be validated," said a senior official on condition of anonymity. Since Monday morning, more than 300 IT personnel have been conducting simultaneous searches in G Square offices, homes, and other sites. There are 50 properties in and around Chennai alone. Shanmugaraj, the realtor's auditor, has been summoned from Bengaluru for questioning. Meanwhile, for the second day in a row, Enforcement Directorate officers searched Chettinad Group's headquarters in the city. Officials are investigating how Tangedco ended up paying South India Chemical Pvt Ltd without first requesting the costs paid by the firm to handle coal at ports.
