The Income Tax officials raided the premises of Congress politician Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy in Telangana’s Khammam district on Thursday, officials said.

Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy will be campaigning for election from the Palair constituency in Khammam district on November 30.

On Wednesday, Former cricketer and Congress politician Mohammed Azharuddin said that the BJP has no genuine impact in Telangana, adding that the state is experiencing a Congress wave ahead of the assembly elections this month.

Mohammed Azharuddin added in his statement that our party is well-represented here. The BJP has limited influence in this region. There is a Congress wave in town. People also feel that Congress will be in charge of growth.

Earlier, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao slammed the Congress, claiming that the grand old party had already dominated the state for 50 years and had done immense injustice to Telangana.

“Previously, there was no fresh water, no drinking water, industries closed down due to a lack of electricity, farmers committed suicide, and so on. We have been resolving the issues one by one since the formation of Telangana. We have resolved the water and electricity issues,” he stated.

While voting for the 40-member Mizoram Assembly and the first phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly ended on Tuesday, elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (second phase) will take place on November 17, Rajasthan on November 25, and Telangana on November 30. The vote will be counted on December 3 in all states.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), won 88 of the 119 seats in the state’s previous Assembly election in 2018, with 47.4 percent of the overall vote share. The Congress came in second place with only 19 seats.
