Income Tax raids on Ranchi Businessman
The Income Tax (IT) officials conducted raids on Tuesday at 29 locations connected with businessman J K Singhania in three different states, namely Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and West Bengal.
According to an Income Tax official, one and a half dozen of the raided locations were in Ranchi, three in Jamshedpur, one each in Jodhpur (Rajasthan), and Purulia and Kolkata (West Bengal).
Singhania's premises in Ranchi's Upper Bazaar locality were one of the locations. The IT action lasted all day.
The IT officials denied revealing much detail about the current investigation, although they did say that incriminating documentation showing tax evasion has been discovered thus far. The raid will almost certainly continue on Wednesday.
The Singhania family's major business is Pan Masala.
