IT Department carried out Search Operation at 7 Locations; Seized Rs. 7 Crores

The Income Tax Officials searched seven residences associated with consultant Pradeep Reddy and realtor Narender Reddy and seized 7 crore in cash from the pair.

The income tax department increased its searches in the state as part of the Telangana legislative assembly elections. According to sources, the raids took place in Gachibowli, as well as other parts of the city and the Rangareddy district.

Income tax investigators had previously searched the homes of Congress leaders Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy in Khammam, Kichannagari Lakshmi Reddy and Parijata Narasimha Reddy in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts.

Raids were also conducted at the homes of relatives of Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

So far, Telangana law enforcement officials have seized 552 crore in cash, spirits, drugs and precious metals. Cash accounted for 188 crore of the total seizures. In addition, freebies worth Rs. 69 crore were seized.

When asked about the searches, sources in the office of Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said they had received no such information.
