IT Dept Conducts Statewide Raids on Rajasthan’s Kanha Restaurant Group Over Alleged Tax Evasion
The Income Tax Department has recently taken major legal action against the premises connected with Rajasthan’s well-known Kanha restaurant group. Multiple raids across the entire state are being carried out by the Income Tax Investigation team after receiving secret information. Raids were conducted in a total of cities in Rajasthan and in Mumbai.
Presently, the tax department is inspecting a total of 33 locations. Raids are mainly taking place in Jaipur, where the team is currently searching a total of 26 different locations. Raids are also ongoing at two locations in Udaipur and also in Sriganganagar, Kota, Karauli, Hindaun, and Mumbai, one location in each.
As per the reports, the tax department has taken this serious step following several complaints received by them highlighting cases of tax evasion and suspicion of irregularities in financial transactions. Raids were delayed at some locations due to the bad weather conditions. Presently, documents and digital documents are being investigated by the Income Tax Team. Any information regarding fraud will be unearthed once the investigation is completed.
Reports have demonstrated that the Kanha Group of Restaurants is mainly under the scanner of the Income Tax Department, and not only in Rajasthan but also in other parts of the country. The said group came into existence in 2008 and has gained popularity in a very short period. A wide range of traditional sweets and snacks is offered by the Kanha Group.
