JSW Dulux Secures Rs 10.81 Lakh GST Refund and Penalty Waiver After Karnataka Authorities Set Aside Demand Order:

JSW Dulux wins its Karnataka GST appeal as authorities set aside the Rs 9.89 lakh penalty and order a Rs 10.81 lakh refund including tax and interest.

JSW Dulux Limited has received a refund order dated September 05, 2026, from the GST Department of Karnataka. The company had received the order on September 07, 2026. The present refund order is in furtherance of the demand order earlier received by the company on December 30, 2024.
The demand order had imposed a penalty amounting to Rs 9.89 lakh on the company under Section 129(3) of the SGST Act/Rules, 2017, on account of a discrepancy involving E-Way Bill No. 162008896389 and Invoice No. 118293, dated December 24, 2024. The order pertained to the financial year 2024-25.
The company, being aggrieved by the aforesaid demand order, had challenged the same by filing an appeal before the Joint Commissioner of the LGSTO 38 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and had also furnished all requisite documents in support of its case. When the facts of the case and documents were analysed, the final decision was announced in favour of the company.
Presently, the Joint Commissioner has set aside the demand order, and accordingly, the penalty of Rs 9.89 lakh has also been waived. Further, a refund order has been issued on September 05, 2026, whereby the Karnataka GST authorities have been instructed to refund the company a total of Rs 10.81 lakh, comprising a tax amounting to Rs 9.89 lakh and an interest amounting to Rs 0.92 lakh.
JSW Dulux Limited has made the aforementioned disclosure to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE) vide an Intimation dated September 07, 2026, issued in pursuance of Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
