Key Decisions taken in 35th GST Council Meeting: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today chaired the 35th GST Council Meeting in New Delhi. It was attended by the Finance Ministers of States/Union Territories and senior officers of the Ministry of Finance and State governments among others.
This was the 35th meeting of the GST Council and the first under Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Here's a look at the decisions taken by the GST council today.
- GST Council Extends Due date of filing GST Annual Return GSTR9, GSTR9A & GSTR9C
- GST council has decided to extends the tenure of the anti-profiteering body by two years.
- GST rate cut on electric charger approved from 18% to 12% to enhance electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.
- In a major Decision, the Councilhas decided to use Aadhaar for registration on GSTN. The Council approved two-year extension of National Anti-profiteering Authority.
- Revenue Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey said new single return form for all to roll out in January 2020.
- Mandatory E-ticketing for multiplexes.
- 10% penalty introduced for non payment within 30 days in case of Anti-profiteering.
- GSTAT to be GST Appellate Tribunal. States to decide number of GSTAT required by them.
