Kokuyo Camlin Hit By GST Demand Order

Kokuyo Camlin Limited has received a GST demand order from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, J.J. Nagar, Central-II, Chennai Central, Tamil Nadu, under Section 73 of the GST Act, 2017.
The company received the order on August 28, 2026, after market hours. The order requires the company to pay a GST liability of Rs 65,91,941 along with interest of Rs 39,88,757 and a penalty of Rs 6,59,195. The total amount involved is approximately Rs 1.12 crore.
Kokuyo Camlin said the order relates to a demand for GST and associated interest and penalty. The company stated that the order will not have any material impact on its financial performance, operations or other activities.
The company also said that it believes it was not given a proper opportunity to present its case. As the order is appealable, Kokuyo Camlin plans to file an appeal against it.
The company disclosed the matter to the stock exchanges on August 31, 2026, which was the first working day after it received the information.
