Lok Sabha Secretariat Notifies Manipur GST Amendment Bill, 2025
Nirmala Sitharaman (Finance Minister) has officially notified the Manipur GST Amendment bill, 2025 dated August 7, 2025. The main objective of this bill is to amends the Manipur Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, and substitute the Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Ordinance 2025.
The State Finance Department says that the amendment will enhances of doing business and improves tax collection efficiency. It is a constitutional necessity because if the legislation is not passed, the state will have difficulty in executing GST amendments which have long been approved by the GST council and its revenue will be affected, added FM.
She added that the Manipur GST Amendment Bill is essential to help the state so that it can collect GST on items approved by GST council.
The Lower House also gave its agreement to the Manipur Appropriation Bill 2025. The objective is to provide for payment and allocation of consolidated funds of the State of Manipur for the services of the financial year 2025-26.
"Government of India will be providing additional budgetary price of two thousand 898 crore rupees out of which one thousand 667 crore rupees will be the capital expenditure because this budgetary fund is important for the improvement and development of the state," said the Finance Ministry.
FM has also replaced several sub-sections and sections as well.
